Their function is to allow periodic flushing of the lines to remove sediment.\u2022 Valvesare used for shutting off infrastructure such as air valves from the network, for the purpose of undertaking maintenance or repair on the asset. Valves ensure a straight line flow of a liquid where minimal restriction is desired.",
